Kwaku Amaah Abban is a seasoned professional forester and now the national coordinator for Nature Development Ghana (NDG). Before then he was the project leader on supporting local communities in Kintampo North and South municipal and district respectively sponsored by government of Austria under the auspices of Ministry of Agriculture, Forest, and tourism; ensuring the implementation of the above project on land-use, economic improvement through bee-keeping, and supply of cashew seedlings to farmers.

Kwaku is a member of Forest Watch Ghana, a very strong and vibrant environmental advocacy group against deforestation and forest degradation. The major campaign areas include fair access, equity benefit sharing especially to forest fringe communities and participatory forest governance. He has facilitated several communities in western, central, and eastern regions of Ghana on climate change, sustainable forest management, Tree and land Tenure, FLEGT/VPA,  REDD and REDD+, civil society independent forest management (RTM), etc. kwaku also represent civil society organization (CSO) auditor on timber validation ( Ghana legality standard-principles and criteria).

He briefly worked with the Development Institute (DI) in in charge of forest and natural resource security and transformation. Also at the Institute of Cultural affairs he offered duties on alternative livelihood, promotion of ecosystem and biodiversity and sustainable utilization and management.

Kwaku has also worked with the Forest Service Division of the Forestry Commission (FSD/FC). He took charge of range management and administration. He had attended several conferences and workshops on climate change resilient, REDD+, REDD, FLEGT/VPA, Forest auditing, Forest governance, etc.
